Optician
Craig R. Dunford, A.B.O.C
In 1970, Craig began learning the optical trade at Vista Optical in Provo, Utah, where he worked alongside highly
professional mentors perfecting his optician skills. After 8 years, he then transferred to Benson Optical in the
Village Green. Craig was recognized for his outstanding efforts in sales, earning both the Top Regional and Top
National Performer Awards during the 10 years at Benson Optical. In 1988, Craig was approached by Dr. Monson with
an opportunity to open an optical store in his private practice located in CottonTree Square. Just five short days
later, the store was up and running fully stocked and ready for customers. Over the past 22 years, the store and practice
alike have been extremely successful, establishing life-long customers and friends.
In addition to being a member of the American Board of Opticianry Certification, Craig is also affiliated with the National Academy of Opticianry. Utah has no licensing requirements, but with the A.B.O.C, he is qualified to work in any state in the country.
Craig takes pride in his unrivaled ability to do whatever it takes to get customers and their broken glasses back on the road. He also has quite the knack for finding the perfect frame with the right fit, color, and size for any individual. With 30 years experience in Community Theatre, and 40 total years of working in the optical industry, its no wonder that he's always making a "spectical" of himself here at CottonTree Optical.
